Los Angeles Weekend Trip

The California Dream sure comes to mind when I visit the "City of Angels" - Los Angeles. Gaining fast wealth and fame might be the reason for many people to move out here… If you like plastic, you are at the right place. All jokes aside… Los Angeles is simply beautiful - the city has everything to offer, not just for the beach babes, but also for the adventure seeker. Beach on one side, mountains on the other, and if you are up for a little road trip, head farther east and you will enter death valley and other beautiful nature sights. One thing I learned while being there is that if you don't have a car, you are completely lost. Wide spread is an understatement, and besides overpriced cab rides - public transportation is never to be found.

The first day I spent in Santa Monica. It was a beautiful warm, but breezy day.

Jenny Packham Internship

With the approach of Bridal Market in New York City, I was lucky to get accepted to intern for the wonderful Jenny Packham. So far it has been an absolute amazing experience. The dresses are so delicate and beautiful, that you don't have a choice but be drawn into this bridal world.
The Duchess even proves it to the fashion world - Jenny Packham is one of the most elegant designers there is.

The 2015 Bridal Show was a major success. Jenny puts once again a 20's style edge to the bridal world, and her beading is just mind-blowing.

Take a look as I lead you behind the scenes of the showroom and the show.

Also take a look at the behind the scenes video with all the make-up and hair tricks.

You wanna to be plaid?!

There is nothing more heartbreaking than being in love and it turns out - YOU HAVE BEEN PLAYED. Being plaid on the other hand is another story. This time I am talking about the trend of wearing plaid pieces of clothing. Since fall we have seen many fashionistas walking around with plaid shirts wrapped around their waists, but that's not all. We could not only find plaid shirts, but also blazers, hats, accessories, as well as pants. It takes quite a bit of self-confidence to pull off this trend and combining it with another piece so it doesn't look too much of a good thing.
In the sales area of a Zara store (where else?!), I got myself some really nice pair of black and white plaid pants. I just love the way it accentuates the whole look. I combined it with a leather jacket, fur vest, and a my favorite accessory - a hat.

#instaddiction

I finally managed to open up an Instagram account for my blog. I am now 2 weeks in and I already have close to 1000 followers. I must admit that double-tapping, reposting, and hash-tagging  is very much my new addiction. Instagram has been giving me the biggest selection of fashion images in years.
I can find style inspirations within seconds.

I love to keep it simple and clean. My Instagram page contains very minimalistic looks, which also is my personal style. There is nothing wrong with wearing all black or the so-called #whiteonwhite. Being simple does not equal being boring. The classic black and white outfits are very classy and timeless, and also reveal your inner goddess.

Artack

Now that New Yorkers returned to the city they used to love, and probably feel like they can love eating out of the "Big Apple" again, I am wondering… Is ART the new drug within all the really hip citizens of this city? Art Basel is over! Thank you, or should I be sad?! I am probably more sad than thankful in all honesty. The really cool people are back in town. Since I didn't get the message to fly out 3 days before Art Basel even began, I must be one of the 14% of the repulsive people who had to stay in this hidious place on earth. I give them a few more days before I am buying them a one way ticket to Cluj, Romania, which is according to Huffington Post one of "The 12 Cities That Will Shake Up The Art World In The 21st Century". I cannot listen to any more superficial art conversations. I am sorry, but most of you guys don't even know how to spell the word ART… yes only 3 letters!
I don't want to bad mouth the exhibitions itself… I saw some really nice installations. The thing is… I don't need to see the ludicrous faces of New York's "high society" in front of it. Please do us all a favor and block your Instagram, so I am not tempted to see your various poses in front of a piece of art that reflects your beauty. I am sure the pool parties were very abstract and artsy enough, too! All in all, I have nothing against you guys, it's just the aftermath I don't want to be involved with. I know you are special and smart… you don't have to explain yourself anymore! You will see... tomorrow New York will be the city you love again.

Here some of the works that were displayed and for sale at the art fare. (These are some examples, which probably should have stayed at home as a scrap pile - but still worth taking a picture for Instagram)

Mid-Length Skirt

Proenza Schouler’s Fall 2013 collection showed the women that mini skirts can stay in the closet until summer. This season we are going to stay classy with midi-length skirts.

I got myself one of the skirts at H&M and just love the way it flows. It is very simple yet very dramatic. With a cropped top or a knitted sweater it makes the perfect thanksgiving outfit.

Re-boot and be patent!

Patent-leather (I used to avoid because of dislike) reached my feet. I have no idea how it got there, but for some reason it gives my outfit the final touch this fall. I purchased two ankle boots from Zara and like the feedback I get.
