Colors of the wind

The weather is getting nicer and New Yorkers look for some really nice places to refresh and relax next to the 9 to 5 routine. My favorite escapes were all the rooftop events like the one at the Ava Lounge. There is nothing better than having some of the most delicious cocktails while the warm brise is flowing through your hair. Accessories and some hot heels is a must in the summer.

                           Rings are the best accessories this year.

Sex and the City 2

 I think everyone who knows me well, knows also that I am obsessed with Sex and the City. Every episode I watched at least 5 times and not to mention the movie. Now, finally the second film came out and I got to go on my free day to the red carpet to see all the lovely outfits of the stars. I swore if there is someone selling tickets for the world premier I will buy them. And this exactly happens to my luck. I had a ticket to sit next to all the stars in the Radio Music City Hall. The price was worth every penny. The atmosphere was just amazing.

Sex & The City 2 featured some of the best fashion flavors this year. Even if you are not a SATC fan, I urge you to watch the movie, simply for the styles.  I enjoyed it thoroughly and think all of us can learn new style tips from Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, & Samantha. A large ball gown skirt paired with a simple tee is  one of the styles Carrie wears in the movie.  This is going to be a big trend into the end of the year.
Carrie wears her Dior top with a asymmetrical bottomed puffy purple skirt here in one of the first scenes in the Middle East.  This scene is one of the only times she is seen during the girls trip to Abu Dhabi without Arabian inspired clothing on, so take note.

Long maxi dresses of all necklines is one of the most featured styles in the movie.  Seeing all of the beautiful trends makes me want to go out an maxi dress shop all weekend long.The girls are shown in this photo eating lunch Arabian style, while wearing super sensational Maxi dress creations.  Notice how their necklines range from glitzy stone necklaced to striped modern bright colors. Superb! Big shoes, long earrings, and super fly hairstyles are also a big part of the movie.

Notice Carrie's harlequin style snug cap she wears in this scene? It is one of the main takeaways from the film.  Be sure to try out some of the hat trends featured in the film.  For starters, look online and at boutique shops for vintage hats.  Most of the hats and caps featured hold a lot history in them.

For once being a bride

Every girl dreams to be a princess and we all know that the wedding day is when the girl is like a princess. Imagine you are the bride and dress her up choosing the most amazing bridal gown, veil, tiara and jewelries to match her dream look.

I had the chance to practice for one day to be a bride. In the morning I got a call if I would be interested in doing a bridal shooting in Centarl Park. My answer was of course YES!! The gowns weren't just regular dresses, the designer created them specifically for indian weddings. You have no idea how much effort she put in her pieces. All the beading for one look took her months of work.

Bikini Season

For some women, there are few things as terrifying as wearing a bikini in public. In the bright sunlight, every stretch mark and dimple seem to take center stage. But if everyone around you is clad in a two piece, you might want to take the plunge and join the crowd. You will look fabulous, provided you feel good about yourself and wear that bikini confidently.

As I got an offer to walk in a bikini runway show at Juliet, one of the most exclusive venues in New York City, I wasn't really sure if I am ready for this... or if my body is ready. Eventually I agreed and went for the fitting to the Pesca Boutique on the Upper East Side and tried on some hot pieces. On top of that we got a spray tan, which I have never done before. It was a very hot day and my body was coated color. I was not allowed to wash it off until the next morning. However, I must say it was worth it. It looked great and I was ready for the show.

The same month I had another swimwear runway show at the Gates. This time I walked for a friend of mine and co-model Rachael Elizabeth's collection Tinggi Kepala.

When I say glamour - I mean GLAMOUR!

Through the company Privé Event Planning Inc. I had the pleasure of attending and working at some of the best events in the past years I have been in New York City. If it were endless nights at a lounge, club, bar etc., my favorites so far were the red carpet events at Red Betty's, the Trump World Tower as well as the Empire State Building. Countless celebrities, show acts, champagne and fashion shows were included. At the red carpet event at Red Betty's I had the honour in planning the fashion show. That means I was looking for all the models, make up artists, hair stylists as well as for the designer. A big casting call for this exciting event was necessary. When I heard that Richie Rich is co-hosting the event, I was even more under pressure. The models, the style and mainly the show needed to be breath taking. At the end it all worked out perfectly. It's official - men can't resist a lady in red. Red may be the color associated with romance but it is also the color that men are most attracted to. If you want to be the center of attention at the next cocktail party you attend, then a good strategy is to wear a red dress. While not everyone has the confidence to pull off such a bold color, if you do it right, all eyes should be on you for the entire night.

How to wear a red dress?

1 .Wear a red dress in a classic style that is cut well and flatters your figure. Consider both strapless options and more covered up styles to decide what you feel most comfortable wearing. Keep in mind that red is sexy in itself, so you can go with a more modest dress and still look sizzling hot.

2. Realize that fit is everything in a red dress. Check out how the dress sits from every angle to be sure it doesn't pull or gap anywhere.

3. Be sure the shade of red dress you wear compliments your complexion. Some reds have more blue undertones that could compete with certain colorings. Try a variety of reds against your skin tone to see what suits you best.

4.Wear nude underwear to avoid panty lines.

5.Leave your legs bare or at least wear nude hosiery so your legs won't take attention away from the rest of your outfit. 

6. Find a lipstick shade that matches the dress color. Let the focus be on your body and lips and go with more understated makeup for the rest of your face.

7.Select either silver or gold finishes for your shoes, jewelry and handbag. These will help set off the red and won't compete with it.

My first shooting in the streets of NYC

It was a very warm spring day in New York City, as I walked in Soho to my first outdoor foto shooting. At least 20 photographers gathered on one little spot as well as some other models. It was very exciting and nerve racking, because this area of Manhattan is probably the most crowded of the city. However, I jumped into my heels and let the shoot begin. Pedestrians stopped walking and started to take pictures as well. Oh well...

Freshness needs the closet!!

After all the black- and greyness of the winter, I need some fresh air in my closet. The days are getting longer, the birds are starting to sing early in the morning and the trees are blooming. It is about time that this mood is rflected in my clothes. Colors needs the city... not only in the botanic way... also in the fashion way!!! :)
